The department of Mechanical Engineering in the campus helps the student imbibe sound knowledge in modern methods of design, production, analysis, quality control, optimization and management of resources. The courses provided here develops the knowledge and skills in the area of Mechanical engineering. It produces engineers who can serve in manufacturing, service and research organizations.

Mission

  • Providing effective class room teaching using latest learning resources.
  • Upgrading laboratory facilities with modern equipments in accordance to industrial requirements.
  • Organizing & conducting staff and students developmental programme for their continual improvement.
  • Developing technical skill through real time innovative projects and by conducting classes’ viz. SKT, TFJ, FGA etc.
  • Conducting industrial visits and training programmes for skill & knowledge updation.
  • Conducting Entrepreneurship Development Programme to bring confidence and to contribute in socio economic development.
  • Arranging special sessions/lectures to develop communication skills, soft skills, professional ethics etc. among the students.
  • Offering Continuing Education programme in Auto Cad, CNC operation, General Workshop Practices etc. for passed out students and working engineers.
  • Providing consultancy in the field of automotive maintenance of govt. and private vehicles and other machinery maintenance of various departments.
  • Organizing national/state level programmes/workshops, seminars, symposiums for knowledge improvement.
  • Conducting various programmes on societal issues to inculcate social responsibility among the students.
  • Teach and train students to understand the principles and application of Mechanical Engineering.
  • Bring competence in handling tools and equipments related to mechanical engineering and familiarize to latest industrial practices and trends.
  • Develop technical skill of the students to identify the problems, analyze and provide solutions.
  • Groom and make the students employable as technicians, supervisors in industrial shop floors/ production plants, power plants, maintenance engineering etc. in private and government sector as well.
  • Encourage the students to accept socio economic challenges.
  • Motivate the students to become an entrepreneur in the field of fabrication, automotive repair, refrigeration & air conditioning and ship maintenance.
  • Inspire the students to inculcate soft skill on behavioral management, overall personality development, professional ethics, social responsibilities etc.
